Blake Lively is branching out, making the jump from TV to the big screen by landing a role in The Town.
The Gossip Girl star will join Ben Affleck, Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Rebecca Hall and Jeremy Renner in the flick, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie is an adaptation of the novel Prince of Thieves and the action follows a bank manager, a career criminal and an FBI agent.
The new season of Gossip Girl premieres Sept. 14 on the CW and shooting for The Town starts next month also.

Sylvain Gaboury/PR Photos Unlike many other females in common who have to diet and work out extra hard to have a slim figure, Blake Lively openly admits to Glamour U.K. that she never does both in order to stay curvy. “I do panic before I have to wear a really skimpy outfit, but I don’t have enough willpower,” she states.
The depicter of Serena van der Woodsen in “Gossip Girl” continues recalling, “I had to do a scene in a bra and shorts for the first time in two years … On the day of the shoot, I ate a pork burrito, chips and coke. Afterwards, I thought, ‘I probably shouldn’t have done that.’ But whatever…I have never worked out.” She, however, is quick to add to Glamour U.K., “I know you feel better when you do, so I am planning on getting a trainer.”

Celebrities Watch Burberry Light Up NYC
There has always been a link between celebrities and fashion, and last night some of Hollywood’s hottest names were in the house for the Burberry Day event.
Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy arrived at the Palace Hotel in New York City looking very loved-up as they smiled and posed for the paparazzi.
Another celebrity couple, Blake Lively and Penn Badgley, also made an appearance, both looking city chic in black/grey ensembles.
Australian eye candy Orlando Bloom gave the ladies something to swoon over as he hammed it up in the arrivals area in a trench coat/vest combo, while ladies like Emmanuelle Chriqui, Rose McGowan and Helena Christensen were looking their best.

Blake @ 2009 CW Network Upfronts
Gossip Girl starlet Blake Lively is smokin’ hot in an Adam jumper short at the 2009 CW Network Upfronts at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Thursday (May 21).
The 21-year-old actress has been on enjoying her time off from work and exclusively told JustJared.com about her hiatus.
“I’ve traveled all over Asia,” Blake shared,
“I went to Thailand, India and Maldives. I stayed at the most incredible place in the Maldives called Soneva Gili and you have to take a boat to get to your glass-bottom hut in the middle of the water. It’s gorgeous!”
Ms. Lively didn’t stay idle while trekking through Asia.
“I’m half-way to getting my scuba license and I went to cooking school in Thailand,” she shared. “I never get time to do things like cook and travel, so now I have two months off and I’m trying to take advantage of it as much as I can.”
When asked if she took back any sourveniers from Asia, Blake told JustJared.com,
“Yeah, we actually rode elephants barefoot and washed them one-on-one in the river. It’s the most incredible thing I’ve ever done. I got a painting that an elephant made for me and that is definitely my most prized possession. And some beautiful jewelry from India!”
