“Gossip Girl” star Blake Lively rushed to her father’s hospital bedside yesterday.
Ernie Lively’s car tumbled down an embankment in L.A. on Monday, leaving him with back and lung injuries.
“He’s going to make a full recovery, thankfully,” Blake’s mom, Elaine, tells Usmagazine.com.
“It was a horrific accident,” she adds. “He was on his way to the set of ‘Criminal Minds,’ and he swerved to miss a car, and his car tumbled down an embankment.
Ernie is an actor and played Blake’s father in both “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” films. He’s also appeared in “Ghost Whisperer,” “The West Wing,” “Crossing Jordan,” JAG,” “Just Shoot Me,” “Murder, She Wrote,” “The Beverly Hillbillies,” “Newhart,” “Hill Street Blues” and “The Dukes of Hazzard.”
Of her showbiz family, Blake has said, “I think its great that they’re all in it. I grew up on sets.”
“Blake is here, the whole family is here, and yesterday it didn’t look good,” Elaine told Us about her husband’s recovery, adding that his injuries “are far less serious than we thought yesterday.”
No word on when he will be released.
